As your local Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), I want to share a quick update on how the Metropolitan Police Service is actively tackling burglary in our neighbourhood, and how you can help us keep our community safe.
🚔 What the Met Police are doingWe know that burglary has a massive impact on victims. To combat this, the Met is taking direct action through: Guaranteed attendance: Officers aim to attend every single home burglary to gather vital evidence and support victims.Targeted patrols: We are using local crime data to increase visible patrols in specific hotspot areas.Specialist units: Our proactive teams are actively tracking down known, repeat offenders across London.Intelligence gathering: Safer Neighbourhood Teams are out daily collecting local CCTV, doorbell footage, and community intelligence.
🏡 Simple steps to secure your homePreventing crime is a team effort. You can make your home a much harder target by following these simple tips:Lock up: Double-lock your UPVC doors and close all windows every time you go out.Create an illusion: Use timer switches on lamps or radios so your home looks occupied when empty.Clear the boundary: Keep side gates locked and trim high hedges so intruders have nowhere to hide.Register valuables: Upload your tech and bicycle serial numbers for free on the Immobilise National Property Register to help us return them if stolen.
